Who Says You Can’t Teach an Old Dog New Tricks?
Well, here I am, just a few months after my 65th birthday and I am expanding my skill set. I’m blogging, creating video and writing. At a time when the perception of my contemporaries is that we struggle to learn to use a new TV remote; I am working to prove that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Nine years ago I thought, Hey, I would sure like to learn to create countdowns for church, that’d save us quite a bit of money. So I downloaded the video editing program Lightworks (https://www.lwks.com/) which was right in my price range . . . free! And embarked on a journey to learn the ins and outs of video production.
Since then I purchased a more powerful computer and began to use Davinci Resolve (https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/) a powerful editing program. Again, it was my favorite price, you guessed it, it was free.
This blog will be a chance to show that there are OK Boomers. Boomers that enjoy and embrace tech. I will be showing off the different videos that I create and working on sharpening my writing skills so that, Lord willing, I can someday publish my novel, The Conversion Factor.
Each week I plan to write a short article as an exercise. The exercise works like this; from the time I first begin to type said article, I will stop after one half hour, so if they feel a bit unfinished, they very well may be. I also intend to feature one of the videos that I’ve created recently. You will find the articles on page 2 and the videos on page 3.
