What is Happening?

Hello all; I haven’t written for a very long time – life has a habit of getting in the way. This time of year, I usually think of working on my website, trying to publish my novel. I have had multiple obstacles on that front, and perhaps God is looking to get me to go a different direction.

Last month (Feb) I turned 65 – my wife as well – we also had a great blessing, our grandson, Olsen Leonard, was born on her birthday, February 26. We now have three grandchildren, some of the greatest blessings that God can give!

Through the last (nearly) year, since my last post I have been trying to improve my craft with video creation. Perhaps that is what God would want for me as I near the end of my career. Remember, I am a Boomer – but I’m an Okay Boomer, since I grasp tech – and it is nearly time that I reach Full Retirement Age (FRA). I would love to do these videos for the rest of my life!

My videos have gotten much better, and I feel joy in the creation. To paraphrase Eric Liddel (as depicted in the film Chariots of Fire) “I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me techy. And when I create God honoring videos, I feel His pleasure.”

OK, maybe God feels pleasure in the creation, maybe He doesn’t – I know that I try to bring honor to Him and His Word with each that I create.

I have hopes – Lord willing – of having my work accepted by aggregators, corporations who sell videos for churches. To that end, I have created a portfolio for my work – here at AnOKBoomer.com. You can find it here www.stevenstoops.com. This URL redirects people directly to my portfolio. I hope enough people like my work that I can sell them. Enough sales to quit my day job??? Maybe, if God allows that would be my desire, but first I would want my Sweetie to be able to do that – she wants to spend every waking moment with the grandchildren, and I pray that God will facilitate that soon.
