A Seamless Loop

As a Boomer, I’m not supposed to be able to do these things, I’m supposed to be confused by tech, but I am not, which is what makes me an OK Boomer. In the end, I want to encourage people to try new things. What is the worst thing that can happen? besides, if I…

A Davinci Resolve Tutorial

I thought I would “up my game” as non-boomers would say. Here is a video I created that is a tutorial for using Davinci Resolve to create a countdown video. This would be of interest to nerds like myself who do multimedia for church. It was a lot of fun to make, but quite time…

Converting a Photo to Video

As an OK Boomer, I recently I wondered if I could take a photograph with a river and make it look like as though it was moving. My first attempt is the top video which I incorporated in in the countdown that is below the first video. I had to erase the sky and replace…

Sunrise in Chester, CA

I got the sunrise in the countdown below when in our local supermarket’s parking lot. I did not increase the color saturation, the colors you see at the end were the colors my phone’s camera captured. I am constantly amazed by the beauty of God’s creation!

Who Has the Time?

Ya know, I thought we were all supposed to have lots of time on our hands with COVID. Guess I was wrong. Time has been at a premium, just like the cost of PPE nowadays. There was a time that the term PPE would have needed to be defined, unless of course you were speaking to a healthcare worker. I used to have a little time with which to write, or create a new video, now I am so crazy busy, the act of dashing off this short paragraph feels like it is going to add to my already “off the charts” stress level. The act of creation has always been my stress reliever, but with no time available, I haven’t been able to do much of that. For instance, I created this video months ago, a countdown that I am offering free of charge with no watermark. If you can use it for your church or event use a downloader and enjoy.

COVID-19 Meme – True or False?

This is the video I wanted to make last week. You’d think that I have lots of time since everyone is in self quarantine. Wrong! I am a hospital materials manager and am twice as busy, now that everyone is hoarding all of the supplies that the hospital needs to fight COVID-19. In any case, the video below was put together in a couple of hours this afternoon. I realized after I was done that we really have no idea how many people have been infected by COVID-19, all we know is how many have tested positive for it. well, take a look, see if you see why this may, or may not, be something really bad.

Finding Context in a Soundbite World – The Video

This video is something that I conceived because of a couple of articles I read. For more info on that see Finding Context in a Soundbite World on page 2 of this blog (https://anokboomer.wordpress.com/page/2/). I was thinking of context and realized that perhaps we need some in our world of Coronavirus.

This video is available without the water mark, contact me for more information.

Easter Countdown

This one started out with several elements. The lower part with the tomb was on a free image site and the clouds came in a pack of cloud “loops” that I had purchased. I put loops in quotes because none of them were seamless if you set them to loop. I had to create a loop from the clouds and then I added some gold coloring to them. Be sure to check out the opening of the tomb in the last 20 seconds.

If you’d like to use it this Easter, contact me. It can be customized for your church and music that you want added.

Mt. Lassen Reflecting

By Steven Stoops February 28, 2020

Someone sent me this picture.  I don’t even recall whom . . . sorry.  I decided to try to do some video work with it so I created the video below. I used a cloud loop that I created from a package of cloud videos that I had purchased and spent some time on the color page of Davinci Resolve. Let me know if you have any questions. Use the Contact me form on the first page.

The Jesus Dare Trailer

By Steven Stoops February 20, 2020

I had the privilege to work with Jay Payleitner to create a trailer for his book, The Jesus Dare. It was a pleasure from start to finish and Jay is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I really enjoyed it and hope you’ll learn enough about the book to decide to pick up a copy.
