I was on vacation for the first half of July, during which we celebrated my younger granddaughter’s first birthday! Around the same time, I received an email from my sister-in-law letting me know that my brother had passed away. It was a study in extremes—grief and celebration, sorrow and joy. I’ve prayed for my brother for many years, and my hope is that, in his final days battling the infection that took his life, God opened his eyes. And as I held my granddaughter, I found myself praying that she—and all three of my grandchildren—will walk with Christ every day of their lives.
Even in moments like this, life goes on. There were about seventy people at the birthday party—our daughter-in-law comes from a big, warm, and welcoming family, where a “small gathering” usually means fifty people.
It was 106° with nearly 50% humidity, and yes, we held the party outdoors at a park. Surprisingly, it was pretty comfortable for most of the day—plenty of shade and a steady breeze. That breeze, however, disappeared right when it was time to clean up.
Despite being “on vacation,” I stayed busy throughout those two weeks. In the margins of the chaos, I managed to create three new short videos, each with a different tone and style. I hope you enjoy them.
Pray For Your Pastor
“Brothers, pray for us.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:25
This short video is a reminder that our pastors need prayer just as much as they give it. It’s easy to forget the quiet burdens our leaders carry. “Pray for Your Pastor” was created to stir our hearts toward lifting them up regularly—not just in hard times, but always. The voiceover narration is paired with hand-illustrated images of pastors in everyday ministry moments. A subtle parallax transition gives each slide a gentle 3D motion, creating a TV-like effect that feels both grounded and dynamic.
A Christian’s Strength
“Please tell me where your great strength lies.” – Judges 16:6
Where does our strength really come from? “A Christian’s Strength” explores that question by reflecting on the promises of God and the quiet force of faith. This video features a voiceover narration and a dramatic shot of Niagara Falls, symbolizing the sheer power of God’s presence in creation. Two versions are available—one with subtitles for accessibility and one without, depending on how you’d like to use it in your setting. The subtitled version is the second video.
Run The Race
“…Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” – Hebrews 12:1
This high-energy video was made to inspire perseverance and resolve in the Christian life. “Run the Race” features bold, illustrated imagery of runners in motion, set to a driving rock soundtrack. The visuals are framed by a creative ink-splatter transition that gives each scene a raw, kinetic energy—perfect for kicking off a message about staying faithful through life’s challenges.
